Our plan for the day was to succeed at two visits in one day, so we set off from Bursa. Our first visit was to 40N 29E, which was not successful. From there, we headed to 39N 29E, going through Orhaneli, Harmancık and Simav. From Simav, we headed towards Selendi. We got off the main road to gravel roads at Necip village. We started travelling very slowly as there were lots of farmers doing their daily work at the fields and we did not want to feed them with dust from the road.
We went past Çakmak village, but before arriving at Hıdırdivanı, we stopped the car around 400 m from the Confluence, because our GPS was pointing towards our left and the gravel road was not going there as far as we could see. We got the perfect measurement at the Confluence, with our GPS showing 6 m accuracy, so we assumed our trip to 39N 29E was definitely within 100 m. Elevation was reading 1054 m.
There were not many landmarks to describe around the Confluence. Towards north and east, there were some stones that are often used in Turkey to separate the fields. Towards south, there was a bush of trees. Apart from these trees, the Confluence was surrounded by hayfields. We took a picture of the area from 30 m northwest of the point facing southeast.
One other landmark we can mention is the water reservoir, which is around 500 m SW of the Confluence (Photo taken facing east, Confluence behind the hill at the centre-right of the picture). This is probably for watering the fields aroud Çakmak village, as the village is around 50 m lower than the Confluence and there was also a mini-dam-like looking structure at the village below the water reservoir.
